Bryn Woollacott MacDonnell
Bryn Woollacott MacDonnell is a Special Assistant to the Secretary of Defense, performing the duties of the Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller)/Chief Financial Officer. Prior to her current position, Ms. MacDonnell served as National Security Advisor to Congressman Ken Calvert (R-CA) supporting his work as Chairman of the House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee. She was previously a Military Legislative Assistant to Congressman Doug Lamborn (R-CO) and an Assistant Program Manager at Systems, Planning and Analysis. In President Trump’s first Administration, Ms. MacDonnell served in the White House as a Special Assistant for National Security Programs at the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and as a Special Assistant in the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD).
Ms. MacDonnell received her Master of Public Policy degree from the University of Maryland School of Public Policy in 2015 with a specialization in International Security and Economic Policy. Originally from Los Angeles, Ms. MacDonnell received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland in 2014 as a part of the BA/MPP dual-degree program.
