Megan Milam is the Deputy Comptroller of Budget and Appropriations Affairs (BAA). Prior to becoming the Director of BAA, she was a professional staff member for the House Appropriations Committee, Subcommittee on Defense. Her portfolio included the National Security Agency, United States Cyber Command, and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence as well as overseeing the cybersecurity and cryptologic activities of the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community.
In her previous roles for the Committee, her portfolio has included Operations and Maintenance for the Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force, including Active, Guard and Reserve; Revolving Funds and Working Capital Funds; and the Military Personnel accounts (Active, Guard and Reserve).
Prior to joining the Committee, Ms. Milam worked for Congressman Mike Simpson (ID-02) as his Appropriations Associate overseeing all funding and policy matters related to the Appropriations Committee. She also worked for the United Nations Secretariat for the Security Council Practices and Charter Research Branch as a graduate fellow.
Ms. Milam received her Masters of Science degree in International and European Politics from the University of Edinburgh in Edinburgh, Scotland, and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University.
