About PPBE Reform
Since day one, Secretary Austin has been guided by three priorities - Defend the Nation, Take Care of People, and Succeed through Teamwork. The Department has made tremendous progress in all three areas, and we remain committed to continually evaluating our capabilities and the technologies, so we remain agile and poised for the future.
The future of the Department lies in its capacity to keep pace with our global competitors and to have the flexibility to deliver results at the speed of relevance. Thus, continual improvements to the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process we use to support the 2022 National Defense Strategy are essential to our success and the success of the warfighter.
